Pots v Nematodes

Having read the various KG articles and comments on the site, it seems to me that growing potatoes in pots of one kind or another is the perfect anti-slug, anti-wireworm solution for the home gardener, and far, far superior to nematodes. And what's wrong with using 'ordinary' soil, apart from the nutrient element which can always be added, provided that it is sieved and checked for wireworms and other nasties? Or am I missing something?
