I've signed up to Freecycle but can't get past the home page. It says Welcome to me but the only option I have is to sign up which I've already done. Lizzie, I know you use it, can you give me a clue

Hi Chantal
Have you tried logging in to the yahoo email? You will have set one up when you registered for the scheme.
Hang on, i'll just go and have a look. I go straight in to my area homepage. Is that what you do?

Thanks Lizzie. I go into the Rugby Freecycle site and it says welcome to me but that's it. I can email them but can't see anything that's not read only. It's driving me crackers!

Ok Chantal
Have had a look and I log in to the site via the yahoo email icon. This then gives access to all yahoo sites. It could be that there has been a problem on there cos I posted up for something and it wasn't there. I've also been trying to reply to someone but the email won't go through.
Oh, the joys of modern technology.
To continue, please bash head repeatedly against keyboard!!!!!!!

Thank you Lizzie and I now feel really stupid. I didn't realise I had to join up to Yahoo AND join the group, I thought I'd done it and I'd only gone half way. Boy do I feel stupid (you'd never believe I'm responsible for IT at work, God help them).
I seem to be in now, thanks so much for your help, you're wonderful; keep up the percussion maintenance...

Have you tried clicking on the "messages" thing on the left hand side?

It is. You can here my brain cell gently banging inside my skull. Do you think i'll be able to play the spoons at the same time?

freecycle is great, I've just collected a breadmaker (inspired by earlier thread on here) at the weekend, first loaf is rising away right now.

Thanks to this mailing I have added Hereford Freecycle to my Yahoo groups and got all the startup info. It could be useful.I have 10 lengths of 20 mm blue water pipe looking for a home, each about 15 ft. long and it's not worth the bother and expense to join them up. Maybe somebody can use them. They were no good for the mini-tunnel that I planned, every time the wind wrecked it and twisted the pipes around. The next thing is for me to ask for the large instant coffee jars, I keep my fertilisers in them.
