I don't know if this is the right place, sorry :S

Hey, I Was just wondering where to get some lavender from and how expensive it is as I really like the length of it and how the stalk can be threaded to make display, Are there any other plants like this?

I used to have a field growing by my house... But it has been turned into hops. Maybe I can grow my own..?
What kind of space/environment/variety would I need?

Hi Charlie

Lavender is very easy to grow from cuttings, most of the lavender in my garden is from bits I've pinched off people.

Recently though I bought 6 lovely French lavender plants in 6" pots from a local boot fair. They were £3 each or 3 for £6 which I thought was a good deal; I've planted them at my allotment. I've often noticed lavender for sale at other boot fairs so it may be worth a look if you have them locally.

I'm not sure there are any other plants with the same qualities that you require; try have a look round a garden centre as ST suggests.

Can also be grown from seed. I notice French Lavender appearing all over the place but even with rising temperatures is it really perfectly hardy?
I think Lavender likes lime, good drainage and soil a bit on the poor side.
