Just about to take on a 3/4 allotment plot which at present is brand new and is basically just a ploughed field. Now, I reckon the best thing to do is initially grow loads of spuds, and would like to know what the latest time for growing main crop is?

Evening,
My main spuds aren't going in until this or next weekend - we've had crappy weather, I've been studying and all in all, not got around to it. Most of the old boys have only had theirs in for a week or two, so I should think you've got at least a couple of weeks' grace yet.
Good luck,
Vivien

Thanks Geoff, I guess what I really need is advise on how to set up such a large expanse of land. I thought short term get some spuds in to allow planning time. Any setting up advice as its a virgin plot?(they all are)
