I've been digging up beetroot today. Lots and lots of them. 18 different varieties. They are VERY MUCH different. I wonder how they differ in taste.

Take a look at my 18 beetroot varieties

Now we can start eating....

A wonderful display you have there, and a beautiful garden.

I would also be interested to know which one you like best for flavour/texture etc...

The garlic pretzel looks interesting. Do you have any info to share, such as where I could get seeds, soil condition, sowing etc.

First of all thanks for all your compliments to the photos :oops:

I live near Aarhus in Jutland.

Till now, my favourite has been Detroit for taste and Cylindra for slicing (pickling).

It's the first time we've grown so many the same year. I'll get back later when we have had the possibility to compare.

The garlic pretzel is the Rebberger garlic. I don't know, if it's available in UK, but this one was from a danish seed saver. I don't know if he has any left this year, but if you send me a PM, I'll try to put you in contact with him.

In our climate, setting in september/october is the best time. Probably the same for your place?

Dear Potager
Some French people reckon Crapaudine is the best tasting beetroot variety. But I am not sure. I would love to know your opinion once you get the chance to taste them all - so looking forward to hearing your opinion on your great haul of Beetroots.
