I have a number of tender garden plants such as geraniums & fuschias which I would like to overwinter indoors. As they will be largely domant h during this period, can I repot them using compost in which my aubergines & peppers have been grown if I mix in a little new compost or a few chicken manure pellets?

I would use the old compost without any additional new or any manure, because you really don't want them to grow over winter. Then, when they break out in spring, I would repot them in new compost.
