What do you do with gherkins??!

I don't even know if I've spelt it right! My sister in law gave me a gherkin plant, which is producing far better than my feeble cucumber. But I don't know what to do with them! Do you have to pickle them or is there some other wonderful way to use them up??

Hello mazmezroz!
they eat perfectly well as cucumbers, but I'd peel them first! Or you can slice them for pickling (soak in brine for 24 hours, rinse well, then bottle with malt vinegar and some dill)
Emma.
