Creative uses for pallets

Hi

Today I have had an unexpected delivery of over 30 wooden pallets outside my garden gate. Some will be used to replace the 4 compost bins but I'm looking for ideas as to how to us the others.

Walkers Shortbread are building a new factory next to my garden. The site manager was really helpful this morning and agreed to giving me some pallets instead of putting them in the skip (the construction indusry produces an amazing amount of potentially re- cycleable waste). But I hadn't expected so many.

What ideas do you have for using a huge pile of pallets that land on your doorstep for free?

Look forward to your replies.

Regards

Chris

Hi Chris,
My last poultry shed was built from wood reclaimed from Pallets. These were not the normal size ones but almost 12ft long. I do not know what was delivered on them but they were to be burnt on the local Airfield so I suspect Aircraft Parts.
I cannot remember how many there were but it took two lorries to deliver them. I also made several gates to give me direct access to both sides of my hedge down the plot. I also ran some through the saw and made my Greenhouse staging.

What a creative lot you are. And I love the wildlife habitat. Just think how many happy little snails will be hibernating the winter away in there.
Do you have an allotment or a garden? Am sure members of any local allotment society would be pleased to take a few off your hands to build compost heaps. And possibly some of your neighbours? It amazes me that such a valuable resource could just be destined to go in a tip.

Apart from a turkey house I've made removable fencing with them. Adn quail houses.
