Do aubergines suffer from blight?

Having spotted some early signs of blight on my outdoor tomatoes yesterday, I've now noticed that one stem on one of my outdoor aubergine plant seems to have died off and gone brown. They are located several yards away from my tomato bed. It may have died for some other reason but I'm just wondering whether my aubergines & peppers are now vulnerable?

And having sprayed my tomatoes yesterday, will this stop the blight taking hold? I noticed another green tomato with signs of it this morning.

I think so, they are of the same family (i think).
Not sure about peppers, probably someone else can answer that for you.

Peppers, like aubergines, are solanaceae - as are tomatoes and potatoes, but I have never known mine to show signs of blight. Wish I could say the same about the last two :!:

If you look at the Aubergine thread you will see other people (me included) are having trouble with leaves dying off. I'm pretty sure it is climatic rather than blight or other disease.

Agreed Alan.

WIth this year's crop we've got one or two fruits so far on each plant with more flowers forming. However each plant has at least one withering or brown leaf.

I haven't seen this in previous years, so don't believe its a routine thing.
