Lincoln Peas

I suspect everybodys' peas are doing well right now and loving all this rain but I just wanted to mention that we've had our best crop ever from a variety I'd never grown before called 'Lincoln' (from Simpsons' Seeds). Fantastic trouble free growing, every pod healthy and packed with 10 or more very, very sweet peas, a joy! (I did grow them under a Fort Knox of netting due to bird damage in past years by the way). This is a variety to remember.

Dear Guilia, thanks for that recommendation, it certainly sounds like a variety to try.

Simpsons have a website, Simpsonsseeds.co.uk
where you can order on line or ask for a catalogue. They have a fantastic range of tomato and pepper plants - we did a community bulk order with them for our allotments and they were excellent little plants that grew away like billy-oh. They have good spuds too. My cousin put me on to them, she lives just in the next village and says they're terrific to visit.

Just had our last meal off the Lincoln peas this evening - the pods that hide until you pull the plants up - and even these were tip top, right to the last chubby pea. Not a single pea moth caterpillar was found (good sturdy pods you see). Scrumdumptious.
