Morning all

In this new house I have a rampant passion flower, loads of flowers but no fruit. If memory serves the passion flower I had ten years ago also gave lots of fruit with no coaxing.

Could any one tell me whats up?

Thanks

David

I'm not sure whether passion flowers are self fertile, or whether you need more than one plant. Do they have male and female plants? I believe some kiwi fruit plants neet more than one plant to cross pollinate? Last summer I remember visiting some lovely public gardens in Rye where they had masses of passion flower fruits climbing up the walls of a house and when I expressed amazement I was told that they were very old plants and that there were several of them. I was also told that the fruits rarely ripened except in exceptional hot summers so although they looked a hopeful crop, the end result was invariably disappointing.

Mine have never had fruit on, but my daughter's had one seed/fruit 2 years ago, I saved the seed and sowed it the plants grew and we have flowers on them this year, the flowers came through like the parent flower.
