Leaf curl

Early this year my early potatoes developed leaf curl, which then spread to my maincrop. A few are OK and some are now recovering but I have noticed that some of my outdoor tomato plants are looking a bit iffey.
I try to rotate the potatoes, but they take up so much room there is some overlap, but I always add fresh compost.
I expect the potatoes to produce a low crop (if any) but what should I do about the tomatoes, also what is the long term prognosis - should I not grow any potatoes for a year or two !! It's really annoying as I bought all blight resistant spuds - then get leaf curl. Many thanks in advance.
