sweetcorn multiple shoots

Hello

our sweet corn is growing 3- 4 shoots per plant- should these be removed if so how many. we have grown sweetcorn for a few years and never had this before.

they are approx 18inches high

any help would be appreciated

I think the general opinion is that these 'tillers' don't make any difference to things so they can be left to grow on. Sometimes in a good year you might even get an extra cob or two.
