Just thought id let you know that my dog does not have cancer.

Its been a long and stressful week. He collapsed for the third time last wednesday ,had a blood test which came back clear. Had a scan this monday. Operation on Tuesday to remove spleen and grapefruit sized tumour  (he`s only collie size)

Just got lab result this afternon - tumour was benign so i get to keep my lovely smelly dog for a few more years. :D

Good to hear!

We're currently looking our my sister's lovely welsh collie called 'Sam'

He's CDT trained, but as sly and intelligent as all collies, slinking out to the sun lounge to 'clean' the cat food bowls as soon as our backs are turned.

He's 15 years only now, and going slightly deaf (and some cataracts) - but is a happy woof.

Glad you've had some good news to kick off your week-end. Pets are just as important as other family members. It's impossible not to get upset when something horrible happens to them.

Glad pooch is ok Seedling......he's such a cute dog. I'm sure he'll be back to his normal, smelly old self very soon, and rolling around in what he loves best
Lots of love

Ok I`ll tell you.
 Having started to recover from his operation he was licking and scratching his stitches so i went and found one of my t-shirts and put his front legs through the arm holes, head thru neck hole and pulled it down over his body.(stopping short of his vital bit for weeing.)
I then safety pinned the excess fabric over his back.
Voila - anti-chew stitches protector.

Its worked suprisingly well but he looks very p**sed off wearing it - its purple
I keep telling him its what all the fashionable dogs are wearing on the paris catwalks
He looks at me as if to say huh catwalks are for cats not boy dogs like me

It could be worse, you could have a matching one.

A long time ago (late 70s) a particular fashion item was the Blanket Coat, remember them ladies?

Anyway, my mother, who's pretty handy with a needle, made my sister and I coat each (different material). My sister then made a coat of the leftovers of her coat for our Golden Retriever, Ross. She made a paper pattern and had him stand there whilst she raised his back legs in weeing positions and then cut out and stiched up his dog coat.

I had to walk with her and Ross through Coventry on many occasions and refused to walk too close to them, people just stood and stared  She prefers not to be reminded of this now, but at the time...

Awwwww, poor Harry.....still, he has to leave the stitches alone for a while. At least his t-shirt is more comfy that the lampshades the vets give them.

My Peruvian sister in law (bless her, she's such a sweetie) bought this for Daisy Dog http://www.bonniedogs.co.uk/product_inf ... cts_id=195 together with doggie wellies

Maybe it's me but, i don't get it. There is no way our Chiefie would let us dress him. He'd leave home.

Glad Harry is back to normal, and i'm sure the funny looks off him will stop soon.

So Seedling, when's the bill due?
Lots of love

Is he insured? Chiefie is just in case of things like this.

Still, it's only money.....so long as Harry's ok that's all that matters.

 :?

Oh dear. Still, it's only money...maybe the vet will let you pay by installments. They're usually ok about it.

Not round here they're not. I had a huge bill for one of my cats who had been hit by a car. I asked if I could pay by installments and was told told, yes I could pay over the next four weeks and it must all be paid within the month. Fat lot of use that was. I had to go and get an overdraft!
