We have to go away Thursday morning and will not be back until Sunday evening - tomatoes in ring culture pots should be OK but we have a cucumber, in a container, that is doing really well. It has 2 cucumbers and quite a lot of flowers - can anyone suggest a way of keeping it watered until we get back?
Many thanks.

could you stand the container in a tray of water? a sheet of bubble wrap floating on the surface of the water would stop loss off water due to evaporation.

Thanks for the replies - we tried Strawberry tart's idea and it seems to have worked!
We soaked an old towel then put one end in a full watering can and placed the other end across the compost and weighted it down with a stone.
When we came back on Sunday all was well but have to mention that it obviously hadn't been very warm or sunny so perhaps that's why we got away with it! Plant looks very healthy and continuing to produce cucumbers.
Thanks - and good luck if you decide to try it.
