Well, there had to be a petition to change it, didn't there? Personally I'm sick of the whole issue already and we still have five years to go. If we got the whole nation out there growing and cultivating vegetables instead of watching this expensive farce on TV, we'd all be physically and financially better off. (And some keen allotment holders would still have their plots !)

£400,000
If KG Admin would like to contact me, I'll design a logo for a knock-down price of, let's say, 50 pence. No, make it £4.

It was obviously designed by a committee of Gestalt psychotherapists - and they were very well paid for their efforts.
I'm still looking for this rude interpretation of it. No doubt OH can enlighten me!

Dear Alan, i have now been well and truly enlightened.
Personaly looking at the logo, they would have been better getting a primary school to have designed it, and given them the money.
I think even Jopsy could have done better than that.

I totally agree with you Primrose, I have absolutely no interest whatsoever in watching a bunch of people running around in circles.
The effrontery of a government who expects humble tax payers, many with absolutely no interest in the absurd spectacle, to subsidise this lamentable indulgence beggars belief.

In a similar vein, why spend £400,000 when they could have asked Blue Peter viewers to design one? surely that would have "got people involved in the whole experience" either way probably would have got a more exciting design. S. tart.

I think the Olympics Committee have really screwed up on this one. I just checked the Change the Logo site and it has 47,000 signature.
The petition supporting the Logo has just 213 signatures. Says it all really.

Its a real lost opportunity on Coe's behalf - why didn't they open the logo design up as a competition? The following publicity, cutting down to a few finalists - phone-in vote to decide winner (monies to Olympic cause) etc etc
Would have been so much better - could have offer a pair of VIP tickets and £10k as a prize - that would have been great.
Its more annoying that's £400k of OUR money just been spent!

Is that a portaloo the logo is running towards?
I can see why the American in charge left after a few months.
