First real rain for three weeks! I am sitting here listening to the gorgeous sound of pouring rain on the porch roof, particularly as we planted about 150 brassica and other vegetable plants on the allotment this morning. And the garden is suddenly full of frogs, great stuff.

Well it didn't make the extra 30 miles to me - the only rain here is from my sprinkler, see if my planted out brassicas have gone back to green from blue by the morning.

Glad to hear you've had real rain at last up in Yorkshire. I'm afraid here that the forecast weekend of heavy rain turned out to be light rain starting yesterday evening and disappearing by midnight. And summer forecast from now on. But I managed to plant out my courgettes, pumpkins and climbing beans in the dry - and, of course, in the hope of a good raining-in. But they'll survive - they always do.

We had torrents of rain on Thursday evening, together with thunder, lightning and huge hailstones. The road outside my house had water coming over the kerbs and it took some time to drain away. The downpour lasted for hours so weeding and planting this weekend was a joy. last nights "rain" turned out to be a light drizzle which barely wet the ground.
