Hi all

Last year I had teerribble trouble with this little beastie's caterpillars. They had really got a community going before i even knew such a thing existed.

Picking them off of established 6ft high and wide mature plants was horrible a) because i hate crawlies b)just when i thought I'd got them all another hole appeared in a prize tom.

This year I plan to construct covers for the greenhouse vents out of fleece and build a door within a door to try and stop them unless anyone has a better solution that they would share with me.

Dear David, i have luckily never suffered with this before, but i would say you are doing all the right things to prevent further attacks.

One thing that has sprung to mind, is if you are growing them in borders in the greenhouse, and the soil hasn't been changed, there will be moths haching out from that soil, so you could end up with them trapped in the greenhouse.

I think they can have several hatchings a year as well.

I grow in those collapsible plastic crates, line them with carboard and fill with growbags - so its all clean each year. Good thinking though.
