Just caught sight of the start of the Cup Final at Wembley on TV. Why on earth do they have these dreadful soloists singing the National Anthem? It makes me want to cringe. What's wrong the good old fashioned rendering of it sung spontaneously by the mass crowd? (Don't expect I'll get a quick response to this one - no doubt most of you chaps are now glued to the screen for the next couple of hours !)

Dear Primrose you can always rely on me. :)
I do agree about the singing, it did sound a bit ropey.
And yes i have got one eye on the t.v. :D

Just got in - been out in the garden - nothing worth watching on TV today

Hi Primrose,

I would not watch either of them if they were playing at the bottom of the garden

Kind Regards

Watched second half. It was so exciting I fell asleep. Woke up before extra time and went for a run which was a lot more interesting. Came home and knew Chealsea had won when I saw younger son's face (he supports MU).

As I had already said I thought Chelsea would win, I reminded him and Mrs Mad of that fact (she is a MU supporter as well).

From their reactions, I consider myself lucky a> to have been fed and b> to be alive..

AFter all it's only a silly game:-)))

PS
Watching TV is ,however, preferable to the smell in our garden. A week's rain coupled with cows in the field trampling round and round our fences trying to eat whatever plants their tongues can reach has produced a mixture of mud and cow dung..(the latter is pretty liquid due to the high nitrogen content of the grass)... annd it STINKS...

Why they play the Anthem at all bewilders me. How many Brits were on the field anyway?
Didn't watch it, but watched today's European cup. No sleeping here!! Cracking game, with no one writhing about after someone kissed them too hard!!!

You should try living on the main route to both football stadia

I get them going to the game sober and nished as pewts coming back. I hear the roars of the supporters outside and can't get into or out of the area for 2 hours either side of the game. :x

Personally, I hate football. 22 stupid little men kicking a pigs inflated bladder about. Plus, they seem to have the combined intelligence of an amoeba, and a complete inability to string together a coherent sentence between them. :?

I'll get me coat too.....which pub is it them Madasafish?
