With all this talk of global warming does it mean we won't get a late frost in early June?

Dear Bren, i think climate change could be more about extremes of weather, so we could get even more frosts in June one year.

Now that really is a lot of help to you. :)

If you're in N Scotland, expect a frost tonight. Anywhere else, I suspect last week in May - first week in June is always possible for a frost. As OH warns "global warming" does not necessarily mean everywhere's always warmer. "Climate change" is a better description to stick with.

We had a frost on the late May bank holiday last year which hammered my beans and courgettes that had been planted out two days before in glorious sunshine. My greenhouses may be stuffed to capacity but they're staying that way until June this year.

in the past ive found that stuff thats been planted out for a week or two has survived a late frost whereas newly transplanted stuff has been hit. as we seem to be set for a mild wet spell for atleast a week ive been getting anything thats ready out in the ground. though most is protected with fleece which does keep the pigeons and pheasants off as well.... and its cut down the time spent watering pots :D
