Yard Long Italian Beans

I've just bought a packet of Dolico Del Metro climbing beans from The Taste of Italy, being intrigued by the fact they are described as very thin climbing beans which can grow up to 45 cms in length. Has anybody grown them and what did you think of them? I'm wondering if they're more a warm climate bean which might not respond well if we have a cool British summer.

Don't hold your breath. See previous thread viewtopic.php?t=3489&highlight=yard+long which seemed to conclude they were a waste of time. Or move to Italy. My advice would be to stick to a good climbing French bean.

Apologies for duplicating a thread. I must have missed the earlier one which was enlightening, but rather discouraging in view of the poor results experienced. Well I've just sown four beans (what a waste of the rest of the packet) as an experiment and will prepare myself to be disappointed. Better to have tried and failed than not to have tried, just for the experience.

That's the spirit And I really hope you prove us all wrong. They are deliciour when grown fast in a hot climate.

Mine were a disaster too. Plenty of growth but no beans.

I sent e-mail to t&m but have never heard anything, however I planted a few in pots in the greenhouse and all are about 4" high so far.
