I asked a while back if Morning Glory regenerated itself every year. I can now confirm that it seems to because although I thought I'd pulled it all out last autumn after being warned it could spread, this morning I've noticed a number of very healthy seedlings peeking through in the area where I'm growing my climbing beans. I suspect some seeds just got buried in the soil which is a warm south facing border. Think I'll live with them, as the deep purple flowers will look very decorative amongst the red and purple flowers of the beans.

Dear Primrose, i would say people will be quite jealous when they see them flowering between your beans.
They should look quite gay.
It must be the very mild winter that we have had, why they have germinated, or your exceptional green fingers.

Well I don't think I can boast green fingers. I regularly break every rule in the gardening bible but often seem to get away with it. Last year was the first time I grew this plant and was astounded how spectactular the deep purple colour was but I hadn't realised that each flower only lasts for one day and only seems to open while the sun is shining so it's not a "value for money" plant.
