Chantal and i spent a lovely afternoon on the allotment moving topsoil from her plot into my raised beds. This strenuous activity was broken up by lots of rest, sitting on the newly built patio,on Chantals plot. All we need now is a wine cooler and a sunshade and we`ll be happy as pigs in s**t.
The wind was vicious but the sun was shining and on the sheltered patio it was lovely.

When I read the subject title I thought you'd been performing that time-honoured ritual of testing the readiness of the soil for planting by putting your bare bottoms on it. Phew!

Dont worry Jenny - the jeans stayed up and we sat on chairs - sigh of relief from citizens of Rugby

Don't panic, I've not gone mad.
To build the patio I had to dig out a large compost heap and then there was another, even bigger heap, right in front of the completed patio.
So, being a nice person and Seedling with all her new raised beds half empty, we started shifting soil from my plot to hers.
I've got so much muck on my plot that it's several inches higher than last year and I still have two old compost heaps to go. Fabulous soil too.
