I need to rant at my own lack of foresight in not anchoring down my little mini greenhouse with its plastic cover with some heavy weights on the bottom shelf. An unexpected gust of wind blew it over this morning, scattering four trays of leeks, lots of lettuce seedlings and some of my aubergines & peppers. And where did all the compost & debris scatter? All over my newly cleaned out pebble water feature! Located as it is against the house wall, I honestly don't know why I didn't think that it might not be stable in windy conditions. I have tried to rescue & replant as many seedlings as I can, but at this tender stage do you think they will survive?

Sorry to hear of your troubles Primrose, as long as you are tansplanting them back into trays they should be fine, it will just be like pricking them out really.
You might lose a few if the stems have been bruised.

What a horrible thing to happen, Primrose! At least it's still fairly early in the season and, if you have enough seeds left, anything sown now should still catch up. Good luck for putting it right!
I remember my then about 2-year-old twins discovering my seed trays on a spare bedroom windowsill and playing "sandpit" in them. Although the seeds and seedlings got treated rather roughyl, they each remained in their own trays and eventually grew perfectly ok, albeit from the rather disturbed potting compost.
