Good evening all,
Has anyone got experience of the Honda FG 110 tiller and the de-thatcher attachment.
My vegetable garden has raised beds and the soil is fairly light and free draining. Apart from this use, I will be using it for flower beds and de-thatching a fairly large lawn.
Do you think it will be up to the job.
Any advise appreciated and thanks in advance.
Regards, Gerry.

Hi Gerry
I suspect that it will be fine for tilling and turning in annual green manures. I expect the dethatcher will be a bit of a toy like the electric type - I wouldn't get it.
I have a mantis, and it's a similar size/power. I had the dethatcher, but only used it twice before selling it on - it's too much like hard work believe me. The problem is that it is not self supporting so one has to pull the machine back to get the scarifying tines to work well. The smallest useful scarifiers have 4 wheels and a 3.5 - 5 hp fourstroke engine - usually available at hire shops.
Hope this helps.

Hi Mole,
Thanks for the advice. I'll take it and give the scarifier a miss.
I knew the Mantis worked going backwards but hoped the Honda went forwards. I suppose I will have to get the answer from the suplier. The problem is that I will have to source it in UK as the Irish importers don't bring the small one into the country.
Regards, Gerry.

Thanks Mole,
I got a Honda and am delighted with it. I gave the scarifier a miss even though there was an offer on.
