Hi Everyone
I read somewhere that Starbuck is giving used coffee free to gardener.
But I would like to know why? What does it bring to your soil?
Thanks

Hi Amo
I trust the used coffee on offer is not after it has been drunk.
According to their web site they have sent it for laboratory tests and it seems quite beneficial.

I use coffee grounds from SB in my compost. I seem to think some people recommend them as a way to keep slugs off plants, but I think that this method, and everything else short of collecting the slugs and killing them, didn't work.

We put our coffee grounds directly onto the garden where it doesn't seem to cause any trouble.

I collected bags of coffee from SB last year and sprinkled on the onions and shallots - had a very bad crop - so I think I will add to the compost heap this year.
