Try ringing the stables listed in your local 'phone directory.

The ones around here (Bridgnorth) give it away free as long as it's collected.

My brother can't even give his stable manure away up in Derbyshire. I posted an offer of it on the Forum last year but there were no takers.

Bluenose you're a rotten typist!!!

Seriously, look up yr local young farmers on the internet, they often deliver small or large amounts for charitable donations. If not look for a website called freecycle in your area, which will allow you to place free postings for items you either want to give away or receive. A sort of e-bay for free.

Failing that if you have a vehicle, get out into the country and you might find local stables that will let you have some to buy or take away for free.

I used to live in Birmingham yonks ago, and my sister had a horse at some stables in Sandwell (NW B'ham), so dunno if they're still going!!! It was sortof at the junction of the M5/M6. We used to say it made the ponies bomb proof even then (going back some 30 years)
