TV crews in our village

i was half listening to the local news at lunchtime and heard our village mentioned

i thought nothing of it until lily and i went for a walk to the local park and there were tv crews outside a house round the corner

i was approached by what i pressume was a reporter and asked to discuss 'blah', at which point i said 'no thanks' and carried on

sadly i realised it was the paedophile that lives with his mum(who is a lovely old lady) who was the person of their attention(we knew he was one but only knew of one thing from a long time ago-we still steered clear)apparently he should have been put in prison for new horridness, but due to overcrowding hes been sent home???WTF!!!

lily and i went to the park for 20 mins, thought id go the back way past the school, to miss reporters and cameras, only to find more cameras outside the school at letting out time! luckliy the police arrived then too, lily and i came home-but not before she shouted 'MEN MEN' very loudly

our little tiny village has been under seige!Just sat here now i can see more strange men wandering the place, they even filmed outside our cottage

the police have driven by a few times; but its his mum im worried about-its her council house
apparently hes on bail for 2 weeks!! hes not to be confused with the horrid man who downloaded child porn, hes worse :?

they interviewed a neighbour and shes made us look like a village for the criminal insane

anyway im hoping tomorrow itll be yesterdays news

perhaps if the jails are full they should bring back the village stocks for this sort of repeat offender, im sure theres a dark corner in most communities where they could be shut up overnight, i expect one night would be enough to drastically reduce repeat offences.

Dear Jopsy, it can be a very wicked world we live in, only made worse by news crews and photographers, they always go miles over the top, and seem to blow everything out of all proportion.

May i say one thing that i find very refreshing, is the kindness you show towards this fellows Mother, i don't suppose many people will be thinking the same way, this really shows you are a very special person.

As you said, lets hope things quieten down for you all tomorrow.

thanks herby
her dh used to garden on the patch next to me he was lovely and we used to chat a lot whilst weeding, sadly he died 2 years ago now
saying that shes quiet but always has a smile and a chat, when we meet in the street
i just worry about vigilantes who may possibly be around, sadly they showed where they lived on tv, but its really her house, if he has any sense he wont even be there!
dh has just been to the pub, apparently there was a news crew in there but none of the locals were talking

Hello Jopsy

It is a great pity that we can no longer trust our Government to protect us from potentially harmful people. They seem reluctant to protect our rights but seem to show more concern for the rights of the perpetrators of crime. Let us hope that their attitudes change before the pendulum swings too far in the other direction as in time it surely will if nothing does change.

As moderator I think that you should stop a thread that is talking about an individual person who is subject to the due process of law. I also think that this forum should stay rational and not get carried away by the witch hunt mentality of the tabloid press. Sorry to be critical - but these are real people and serious issues.

Thanks for your comments and I think on consideration you're probably right. So, I'll lock the thread, at least for now.
