I've been watching a Victorian glass cucumber straightener on ebay. It's just sold for a massive four hundred and fifty pounds.
Thats a lot of money to pay to get a straight cucumber.
I think we all better check our sheds tomorrow, if anyone finds some, i will be willing to take them off your hands for free. :shock: :D :wink:

The one that sold was twenty inches long and tappered, what i think makes it quite an early one.
Anyone rubbing their hands together yet. :wink:

You don't need artificial aids. With modern varieties you get a large percentage of straight ones. My own 'star' performer at the moment is Galileo for quantity and quality. Other cucumber varieties that I have tried were very good but are no longer available, I think Suprami is still around.

Allan, I think you are missing the point a little. :?
Oldherbaceous was amazed at the price being paid for an antique garden tool.

If you seriously think any of us are in the market for such a device at £450, I suggest you either have another drink, or take more water with it. :wink:

However I will be digging my own one out with a definate view to e-baying it. :D
