I've just been chatting over the fence with my neighbour who informs me they are having a turkey crown this year.

It was a frozen one. He put it into the oven (cold) to defrost but accidentally turned the oven on for an hour. He says because of the box it didn't cook at all, just started defrosting nicely. This was yesterday (I think).

What are the chances of them surviving until BoXing Day? It sounds very dodgy to me.

Talking of frozen Turkeys I was told in the pub yesterday that an old lady bought the last frozen turkey and got mugged before she could get it to the checkout and security had to confront the mugger to restore it to the old lady.
This is supposed to have happened in Leominster but I really do not know if it is just a bit of local tat! I somehow think that around Christmas Time there are some very fertile imaginations at work. Too much alcohol and not enough sex methinks!

On local radio round here there was a woman who had bought a new cooker and used it for the first time to roast her turkey. She'd cremated by 9am yesterday and appealed on the radio for help. Someone rang up to say they had a farm shop and a few spare turkeys so she was going straight round. Opposite end of the scale

My neighbours are still alive; I think.

A friend of mine got severe concussion which took him off work for several months, after he was mugged after doing his Christmas shopping and the mugger hit him on the head with his own frozen turkey....
