Wellie help please.

No, not you Wellie!

My wellington boots developed a split on the right boot. Can I find replacements, can I heck as like.

Everything I can find seems to be made in the far-east and to my eye all they seem to do to make a large european size is to just stretch the length of a size four and leave the width unaltered. :(

I need an 11 with width for my G (Clark's width measure) plus woolly sock.

I was shewn, dontcher kneew, some Barbour posh boots at a very un-Oldherbaceous price of £180.00 at a local country-wear outlet.

Does anyone know of a suitable source of plain simple wellies for large wide feet, at a sensible price.

My size is 11 but go as big as I can in boots to make them easy to put on and take off. The local DIY got a stock of surplus Dunlop non-rubber, I got a pair of 12s then 2 pairs of 13s before stocks ran out.The 13s are marvellous, not really sloppy bit as my feet have room they don't get cold so no thick socks necessary. I can only suggest keep on looking.

Dear Peter, if you want wellies at a very Old Herbaceous price, :D  you could try your local builders merchants, you could even get a pair with toe-tectors, as these would be handy if you drop your wallet, which would be quite heavy after the huge saving you have made.

Dear Peter,
I, too, have very wide feet and have found the Hunter range brilliant. They are expensive, however. Search for Hunter wellington boots and there are lots of sites selling them. Local saddleries will probably do them too.

Sadly OH I have already tried that route and they were just the same, except Wickes and they did not stock any.

Hunters fit my big feet but unfortunately not my rugby players calves. I have since gone over to rigger boots which are more comfortable and much warmer than wellies.

You need the Duck boots folk. My OH has normal size feet (10.5's) but large calf muscles which make wellie fitting impossible, but we did find a company a couple of years ago who thought he was quite normal!

I'm sure it was something to do with ducks.

He's working away until the weekend, but I'll interrogate him on his return and post the details. I know he has found some wellies and waders that actually fit.

Ifd you have a branch of focus try in there.Ours has some wellies made in Italy. The size 44 is exactly the same size and shape as my regular plastic shoe which is a comfortable fit on my wide size 10.5 foot. Matt green plastic.
Another source is
www.strauss-direct.co.uk
2 ranges of wellington boots for workmen, one range has extra safety features. Sizes38-47 and 41 to 47.They have sale prices until 20 December, 6.98 and 8.99 +VAT and carriage
I would go for the better Nitrile safety ones for myself but I am well stocked.Ref 1179748
If you can't get sorted PM me.

Hi Peter
Take a look at the Lakeland Wellington Boots. Website is www.lakelandfootwear.com. However, I don't think they sell through shops.

I have a pair of their 'Car Wash Boots' which are mid-calf height and extra wide fitting and very easy to get on and off and very comfortable. I went a size larger than my normal size to allow for thick socks. they are £15 plus p&p
Lakeland also do up to size 15 in a green wellie but these are not so wide as the 'car wash boots' and I needed to go up two sizes to allow for thick socks.
