Like many people I save my own seed at the end of the season. However today I was pulling down the dead plants to compost and pulled off all of the remaining pods which were nicely dry. Having hulled them I am left with 2lb of seeds which I do not need for growing.

Can I use them like I do my borlotti beans in soups and stews?
Kindest Regards, Piglet

Yes, they are quite nice and meaty. Runner bean Czar seeds taste exactly like butter beans and are utterly delicious. I also tried eating the seeds from a red runner (possibly Enorma) which were perfectly nice, but I prefer the flavour of borlottis for the ones I grow on purpose for dried beans.
