I have always allocated myself a winter project for the allotment..last year it was a fruit cage, this year it is a replacement greenhouse.

I have been given a lovely greenhouse 10 x 8 and yesterday I went along with a colleague to dismantle it. It was mostly unglazed (although much of the glass was covered up laying on the ground) and some upright posts were not assembled, it was leaning and rather precarious in the wind.

When I left home it was pouring with rain but as I arrived at the 'demolition' site the sun came through and it didn't rain again untill we had almost finished unloading it at the other end.

I have transported it down to the plot and its all in bits but like the proverbial jigsaw I am hoping all the bits are there.
Imagine my joy when I sourced the suppliers website last nightand found that I could download the complete set of assmbly instructions.

This greenhouse is to replace a 8 x 6 which is going to a good friend on the site. By the time the New Year comes I will be raring to go again

Dear Weed, your enthusiasm is quite invigorating, lets hope in doesn't diminish when you are out there in the freezing cold trying to do up the nuts and bolts, and you can't feel your fingers. :D
Only joking, hope it all goes well my friend.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

OH would be more than welcome Jopsy an you too if you feel inclined...I can certainly provide plenty of hot tea and biccies.

My yearly projects are a continuing effort to 'work smarter not harder' on the allotment...there will be a time when I can't do the heavy stuff by which time all my labour saving projects will be in place... allegedly
I estimate that around 2206 I will have to slow down a bit...how's that for forward planning

Dear Jopsy, thankyou for offering my services to weed but i think i should leave Weed to freeze by himself, on his winter projects. :D
Dear Weed, as for Jopsy, me and yourself doing the project, can you imagine it, we would get nothing done for laughing, i'm sure.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

Damn the greenhouse ....I will settle for the laughs

I can sort the greenhouse out later when the weather warms up.
