Our Norton Internet security is due to expire this week. Our P.C. shop recommends Bullguard instead as it doesn't slow down the computer so much. I have never heard of Bullguard before. Are any of you using it ? Is it O.K. ?

Afraid I can't help with Bullguard.
Have you thought of free AVG?
I use Trend which originally came with my motherboard, it seems to have kept me safe but is about £25 pa for renewal.

I'd do nothing until Peter has answered this question; he's our resident expert. :D

For me, I use Sophos, for which I have to buy a licence, and have never heard of Bullguard.

we have used AVG for several years. it comes from a check (im not even going to try to spell it) website as a free download for private use or you can pay for the full pro version, you set it to update itself daily and works well. stick "avg antivirus" into google to find it. our local puter shop puts it on any machine that goes out unless the customer has something else.

On a personal level, I use the holy free software trinity... Free AVG for the viruses, ZoneAlarm for the firewall and Spybot for tracking down those nasty cookies & stuff.

Oh, and of course, I browse with Firefox

On the surface, the only problem that I can see with Bullguard is that you have to pay for it!

There's a review for it here, but it's for version 6 (not the current version 7) and it's a little lukewarm

Dear Happymouse,
I have used Norton for the past 3 years and had nothing but grief with it.The bloke in the pc shop recommended Bullguard after he had reformatted my pc twice i havent had a problem with it yet.Apparentley Norton takes up too much space. Bullguard only costs a tenner opposed to the kings ransom Norton charge.
