Paulie Walters has gone to meet his maker. He was always a good foil for Wogan, and I missed his imput. However, although he was terminal, nothing was heard until the announcment yesterday. God bless him, and his family.

You might like to leave a message to his family on the BBC 2's website, along with a few hundred others.
Isn't it grand that they at least recognised what they had in Pauly Walters? They didn't know what they had in Ray Moore.
To be fair, Wogan mentioned his terminal illness in his last book and there were many references on air to his being very ill. Personally, I would prefer the BBC to be frank about his diagnosis but we don't know if the little information we had was the preference of his family.
Whatever the reason - we admired Pauly, he deserved our respect and he will be sorely missed.
Let's hope God has a radio station, golf course and a small plane for him to enjoy.
Without him, we would never have known Eva Cassidy or Katie Melua.
Rest in peace Pauly Walters. (aka Dr Wally).

I will miss him even more now - no more 'soft hands' or tastes like chicken..... Very very sad - I didn't realise his illness was terminal, obviously it was serious to be away that long but it was a real shocker when I heard the news this morning. RIP Mid Herts Maestro xx
