Idiot proof instructions needed.....
My fruit vines in my tunnels have now lost their leaves. Can someone explain in simple terms how I train the leaders and which offshoot I should (eventually in the spring) retain?
Thankyou.

Use the leading shoots to train in and form the new structure as needed. Prune all lateral spurss back to 2 buds. You may see fit to take some out to prevent overcrowding. Work done best in December.
Vines are very vigorous and will take hard pruning.
You are very welcome to come and see ours whenever we are there, best to check first.
At Journeys End, Ewys Harold Herfordshire there is a/the Natinal Vine Collection but I think it is all outdoors

I go along with Allan if the vine is established.
You don't say how old the vine is. You ought to prune it hard back to build up a woody framework for a couple of years if it has been recently planted.
Btw, I think that you only want one sideshoot to grow from each lateral position, one is an insurance policy - in spring when the shoots grow from the 2 retained buds, let both grow initially then remove the weakest.

Thankyou for the answers.
The vines were planted last year. I bought them from Mr Edwards at Journey's end when he had his open weekend. He only opens to the public once a year and soemhow I missed the date this year. It's a great place to visit. As well as all the vines outside, he has them growing in his tunnel tents where he uses them to shade his tomatoes.
I'll set about mine with the secateurs next month.

Given the mild weather please do make sure they are dormant first Tigger, or you might bleed them dry.
Do not put off thanking people when they have helped you, as they may not be there to thank later.

Tigger, have you any idea what seedless grapes are recommended. What we grow are welcomed by adults but the younger generation expect to have seedless ones so I have to get some of those as well.
Present stock are
Golden Chasselas (grown by the family since 1945)
Dornfelder
Siegerreibe
Madresfield Court, still a baby
Mr Edwards describes all of these on his website.

Try Lakemont Allan, Seedless and grow well even in Scotland.
