Are Small Cabbage White butterflies less attracted to brassicas? If not are their caterpillars red instead of green?

There was one word missing from the body of the text. It should have read 'Red Brassicas'. As Small White Caterpillars are camoflaged on green brassicas, do they turn red on red ones? Or does the red colour put them off in the first place?

It's been my experience that red cabbages don't seem to attract cabbage whites, but my experience isn't extensive. I had one year of squashing caterpillars before deciding to always grow brassicas under fleece or protective netting.
