Hi everyone

Just a quick post to introduce myself...

I'm a first time grower (just coming to the end of our first half-season in our new house)

We grow in our garden and greenhouse, and this year have had bumper crops of Gardener's Delight tomatoes, grapes, plums and apples. :D

In the autumn we hope to convert a small paddock at the back of our garden into "proper" veg beds and a soft fruit area. Will be hard work, but Mr OWG and myself are looking forward to it!

Will probably ask lots of ridiculous questions, but promise to post lots of lovely recipes in exchange for help! :D

Welcome. :lol: As you'll soon realise, we're very friendly and helpful, but a touch......touched. You'll quickly adjust and in a matter of weeks, it will seem quite normal. :wink:

We only moved in the house in July, and the couple who lived there previously had planted tomatoes for us, and dealt with an existing grapevine...

The plums and apples are from the orchard at the bottom of the garden...

I had a very quick introduction into jam making and freezing fruit!

I'm now just trying to get to grips with pruning the fruit trees and grapevine back this autumn before I start ordering my veg seeds for next year!

Our vine is "trained" along the greenhouse in 2 directions (although they are very triffid like, I'm finding)

Busy??? I've been making jams and chutneys every weekend, ready for cheap & cheerful pressies in the festive season! :wink:

We're in north west lancashire, on the coast between Knott End and Morecambe; the beach is about 600 yards walk from the house...

oh lovely!
i went to lancaster uni and lived in galgate for a year
thats not squillions of miles away
i have a better idea now!
my vines are rather peculiar-def need sorting
people would be scared if i made produce!
