Just been to the doctors for a tetanus jab.
This is the third trip for it, first time saw the doctor, they don't do them now, so had to make another appointment to see a nurse next day, went down next day saw the nurse to be told she can only take stuff out she can't put stuff in, make a third appointment for today, saw nurse and was told i don't really need one as i have had five in my lifetime.
It had been ten years since my last one but that does not matter anymore, she still gave me the jab as it now does polio and diphtheria, i did tell her we didn't get a lot of diphtheria where i live.
So thats me done for tetanus jabs for the rest of my life, well until they change their minds again.
:D
It's a strange old world.

Kind regards Old Herbaceous.

Theres no fool like an old fool.

Hello there OH. I'm sorry to hear that you've had a tetanus jab, they are pretty awful. I had to have one about 10 years ago, when I worked in a lab, it was mandatory. Very painful, and my arm went dead for the rest of the day.

She did inject it into your arm didn't she.........?!!!!

I think the NHS are giving out very mixed messages on the need for tetanus jabs because last year when I went to my surgery for my flu jab I asked them if they would check my computer record and see whether I was due for another tetanus booster since my last series must have been more than 15 years ago and I'm always cutting or pricking my fingers on stuff in the garden. The reply was:
"Oh we don't bother with boosters any more. If you've had one you should be OK for life".

So why were we always told how important it was to keep our tetanus injections up to date? Is the NHS just trying to save money?
