this is horrid and i dread to think what you wonder about my house
every morning i come downstairs to a snail trail
i've been trying to catch the blighter out by coming downstairs at bizarre times
i still haven't seen it!
what time do these things troll around?
why does it leave random patterns across my already heavily patterned rug?
how can i stop it?
i have no idea if it's one or more, if it's the same one, or where it's coming in!
AGHGHGHGHGH....
ps- i don't really get up at this time to find it lily was up teething, she rtn'd to sleep whereas i'm now fully awake (also worrying abut going back to school tomorrow) dh awoke and then snored..
slug/snail trail

Good morning Jopsy, this is the best part of the day, apart from the rest of it.
I think you may well have some of my posh giant slugs down your way to, the only way to get them is
to put some slug pellets on a tray or flat container.
Hope Lily isn't being to bad with her teething.
And don't worry about school tomorrow you will be fine, just think about the young children got to meet you for the first time, scary.
Kind regards Old Herbaceous.

Don't worry Jo, slugs sneak in on all of us at some point (Piglet will tell you some more on this when he's nexy on line!).
I've found snail trails around the place on occasions but have found the little buggers have usually hitched a in ride on a cat. My dear departed Sasha had very long black fur and was always carting foliage and wildlife around with him (I recall coming face to face with a huge caterpiller on my duvet one morning) and he also often had snail trails over his fur from when he was asleep in the garden.
Be careful with pellets if Lily can wander around in the night.

Hello OH and Chantal
Lily is only off colour during the early evening usually.
Bizzarely there's no trails today!
My cats have small fur
I could put a tray of pellets as lily is safely locked behind her child gate at night.. i may well try that
Thank you
As for the children meeting me they already have-bet they haven't slept all summer in eager anticipation!!

Dear Jopsy, you better check the bottom of your slipper, you might find the remnants of a squashed slug.

Thank heavens, the OH seems to think we have a strange house, now you lot have the same problem.
Last slug invader, was found by the sole of my bare foot on the way upstairs to bed after letting the dog out for her bedtime widdle. Made me jump a bit.
They always turn up in our warm, dry, carpeted hall.
No apparant way in though.
I reckon they get under the door, through the door to frame gap.

Chantal, its not even a crack of a gap, but, it is the only possible way into our hall.
No trails in the living room or on the stairs.
If you have a way of checking where the blighters are getting in the wife will probably pay handsomely.

Let the dog out for her bedtime widdle, locked the back door, put obstacles of the sofa's to ensure the dog uses her bed, strode towards the light and trod on a slug.
I think OldHerbaceous is fighting back, he's sending out his posh slugs to see how the other half live.
How did the slimey little b****** get there, five foot from the nearest outside wall, carpet all the way.
