Hi all

A lot of the fruit (?) on my jalapeno forest is going black and I wonder if this is the normal ripening process. They arent rotting and seem healthy other than this.

Thanks

David

Doesn't sound good to me - my Jalapeno Giants go a nice smooth bright red.
Have you looked up the exact variety on one of chilli web sites, there are some links in other posts, there might be ones that do go dark.

Hi there David,

Don't know if this is the same thing, but my Corno Rosso sweet peppers go from green through to a very dark, almost black colour to fully glossy red. I was worried at first, but having left them to get on with it, they are now going a very shiny pillar box red!
best of luck with the chilis! :)

My purple jalopenos are turning red.

My purple Explosive Embers are turning red.

My Yellow Bumpy is green.

My black Adornos are turning red.

My Habanero White are green.

Nothing is as it should be so it seems... :?
