Just curious, but is that a kookooburra on your avatar?

Hi Chantal
Yes it is. Or a Laughing Jackass as it was also known as.
This is a part of a porcelain plate I painted. Reducing the photo down so much has made it a bit blurred.
They are lovely birds and really do laugh. Though it is not so funny if they start at 4.30a.m.

My only experience of them is from the Tinga & Tucker Show (children's B&W TV in the early 60s. T&T were koala bears and there was a character called Katy Kookooburra who had incredibly long eyelashes. There was Willie Wombat too as I recall, all manipulated by "Auntie Jean". Come on, who else remembers them?

Dear Chantal, how come we all seem to manage to remember the childrens programmes we used to watch, even down to the smallest detail.
I sill think some of the older childrens programmes are better than some of todays grown up ones.
I think your bird spotting skills are second to none.
Kind regards Old Herbaceous.
Theres no fool like an old fool.

No, I don't What was it? Show me at Malvern.
I can remember that the first 45rpm record I ever owned was "Over the Rickety Bridge" by the aforementioned koalas.
