Is it possible to make jam, jelly, pickle or chutney out of Perry Pears? I've googled the question and come up with nothing other than drinks, notably Perry. :?

Well I've rummaged through all me Tomes chantal, with no result except to find that perry pears are higher in tannin and acid than normal pears - but I bet you knew that anyway

Sorry to let you down old fruit

If I had some I'd use as normal pears, but taste frequently! :D

Hi Chantal,
I have never heard of them being fit for any other purpose than Perry.

Why don't you want to make Perry? It's gorgeous.

Uurgh. Does that cover my opinion of it?

I've not picked any yet and they are so high up the tree a ladder will be required so they may not get picked at all. I'll have to think about this.:? Thanks.
