I first grew this variety several (4/5?) years ago when it first became generally available and was impressed. However, last year it was disappointing and this year I decided to see how it compared with the old favourite Enorma - which I always used to grow.
Well White Lady looks very healthy but hasn't produced much in the way of beans whilst Enorma has an enormous crop of very good beans.
And I have just been speaking to a friend who lives about 7 miles away. She asked me how my beans were as hers aren't doing too well, despite daily watering. She has 2 varieties - Sunset and White Lady and Sunset is doing much the better of the two.
Anyone else any recent experience of this variety? Is it possible that it is deteriorating?

Hello Colin
We've grown White Lady for the first time this year and have been very impressed! It is growing alongside Streamline and an un-named (red-flowering) variety, we were given.
In recent years we have grown Painted Lady, Red Rum, Galaxy, Armstrong, Mergoles and Best of All. White Lady surpasses them all for us. The greatest yield and tender too. We picked a 16" bean yesterday - no stringiness in it at all. We are so pleased with it, we'll be growing it again next year.

Hi Chez,
Yes, that is the way I remember the crop and I picked a 16 inch White Lady bean yesterday. But that was the only only like that.
Where did you buy your seed?

Hi Guys
I have grown White Lady for the first time this year, having seen a wonderful crop last year at Wisley. I have picked some nice long beans but the yield has been far inferior to the red flowering variety (can't remember which one) that is growing in the same raised bed with the same conditions.
cheers
