OH-right again

Thanks OH. As you predicted, my dwarf runners are now throwing beans at me, not flowers. Given loads to friends, and 96 year old aunt who loves them. I hate frozen runners. Taste oily to me.

I don't like them frozen either, but they make great chutney.

They're horrible frozen if you cut them into chunks. However, I find if cut them into 3 inch lengths and then shove them through one of those little bean slicers then freeze them on trays before bagging them up, they are very nice when cooked.

Old H is always right....

earlier in the year, he kindly suggested I perhaps didn't need to plant QUITE so many marrow plants....

how right he was!

We gave up freezing runners many years ago and froze climbing french beans which were somewhat better. Before we gave up the beans were cut in big pieces as the more you cut the more flavour you lose.
