I really want to give overwintering onions a go and have been reading up on all the varieties, but i cant find any for sale except senshyu yellow. I wanted to try Kaizuku and Imai and anything else (recommendations please!) but just cant find the seed in the uk. I know i have to sow it asap too, can anyone point me in the right direction.

Isn't this a great Forum full of helpful people.

Senshyu and Sonic are widely available, I think mine come from D T brown or Moles seeds.
I sow in small square pots, up to 6 seeds, thin to 3 0r 4, over-winter in a coldhouse and plant out in the New Year weather permitting, if late keep feeding and they will not suffer.

Got some fantastic results from the onion sets for overwintering from B&Q last year,- and still eating them (the size of a small football they are)
