I have some pumpkin plants Jack-o-lantemrn coming into flower, do I need to set up a dating service to get the flowers together or are they assexual or something and dont need to pollinate each other?

PS Will my home made comfrey and nettle tea do good for feeding them

To what do i do Peter? a paint brush or shake the male flower inside the female? is the female he one with the tiny pumpkin behind it?

And do I do this from one plant to another or from within each plant?? Its a bit like running a vegetable family planning clinic.

My courgettes, pumpkins and squash have always grown with absolutely no interference from me. :D

I tend to help out pumpkin and squash to help control the number of fruits per plant. I simply remove a male flower and "introduce" it to a female flower or two to spread the pollen about.

I find the male flowers are at their best first thing in the morning.
