Kohl Rabi

I'm growing some for the first time, what ways can it be used :?

Grated raw with mayonnaise or added to a coleslaw mix. Boiled/steamed as a veg - it tastes like a cross between a cabbage and a white turnip. Add to a stew, like any other root veg. Best of all - boiled/steamed then mashed with lots of butter and black pepper.

However you eat them - don't let them grow too big 'cos they get woody.

I ate them in a hotel a long time ago; they were thick sliced, boiled and covered in a delicious white sauce. :D

We've just returned from a wedding in Poland where one course was Kohl Rabi soup. A creamy soup flavourd with dill, it was wonderful. So impressed we're going to try growing it for the first time next year.
