Outdoor Ridge Cucumber

I'm growing cucumbers for the first time on my plot. The F1 Carmen mini cucumber has already provided several fruit and no sign of any male flowers. My real question though is - I also have a ridge cucumber that does have a couple of male flowers. Should I be taking them off or not? - it doesn't say one way or the other on the label that came with it. Thanks

Reading my book you leave the male flowers on outdoor cucumbers but take them off greenhouse cucumbers.

Hi Sarahlee,
Thanks for the info, could I ask which book you are referencing?

Hi Belinda, It is The Vegetable And Herb Expert by Dr.D.G.Hessayon. I have bought loads of books over the years but this is the first one I bought and the way it is laid out makes it far easier to get information on specific vegetables than some of the other books I have. It's not expensive either. £7 from the garden centre.

Thanks, I've looked at it in the bookshop occasionally, perhaps I better go back and have a proper look, it sounds quite useful. Regards, B
