Club Root Control

Since the only products I have know about for club root control, Calomel dust and Liquid Club Root Control from pbi, have both been withdrawn from the market, does anyone know of any alternatives?

In addition to the chemical control I lime the beds like mad and add a bit of rhubbarb to the planting hole. I also riase all my plants in large pots and plant out when well established and back fill with compost rather than soil.

Thanks

Jerry

Hi Jerry,
The top half of our village suffers from Club Root and one gardener I know grows his brassicas in the largest size Rose Pots and he digs his planting hole and limes the bottom of the hole and he then cuts the bottom off the pot and plants in the pot.
He has, I know, had quite a bit of success using this method luckily it is almost 2 miles from my plot. I do not visit antbody there and only meet them in the pub on Sunday lunchtimes.

There's a gentleman at Gornal (near Dudley) who sells lots of veg/fruit/flower plants from his home and he grows all brassicas in Rockwool rather than soil. He sows them into lengths of guttering and you buy your seedlings by length rather than number.
